Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.272(j)(2)(ii): The employer shall immediately remove any fugitive grain dust accumulations whenever they exceed 1/8 inch (.32 cm) at priority housekeeping areas, pursuant to the housekeeping program, or shall demonstrate and assure, through the development and implementation of the housekeeping program, that equivalent protection is provided: a. On the third floor of the plant tower, fugitive grain dust accumulations of 0.160 to 1.75 inches which had covered the floor surface under the PC#1 conveyor, platform for the PC#1 conveyor, supports for the PC#1 conveyor, tops of the pre-cleaner bins, and steps on a stepladder were not immediately removed. b. On the second floor of the plant, fugitive grain dust piles of 6.5 to 9 inches which covered the floor due to a leak from a pipe off the polisher leg were not immediately removed.
