Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: (a) Switchgear Cabinet T-4 - The employer did not prevent an employee from working in proximity to electric power circuits rated at 13,200 volts A/C and did not ensure that circuits were de-energized and grounded or effectively guarded to prevent employees from shock and burn hazards, on or about June 8, 2012. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
