Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:11/06/13 Location:Second Floor of House Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by 32-foot trusses that were hoisted utilizing a single pick-point at the peak. (b)Date of Violation:11/06/13 Location:Garage Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by 25-foot trusses that were hoisted utilizing a single pick-point at the peak. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to hoist the trusses in accordance with the Wood Truss Council of America recommendations per BCSI B-1 and BCSI B-2. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
