North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall from elevation: a)Production line #1D - Where a homemade ladder used to access the latch on a roll-up door was made with 2" X 4" X 16' southern yellow pine lumber, had no filler blocks, or the correct amount of nails in each rung. Abatement Note: Adjust/Fix the latch so that the roll-up door could be opened from the ground without having to use a ladder, or purchase an extension ladder with rubber feet and use it to access the latch.
