Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to caught in and/or struck by hazards: a.Spray Booth #3: An readily accessible, and unobstructed emergency stop device that was capable of controlling motion, was not located inside of the robotics spray operation booth #3, exposing employees to potential struck-by hazards, as determined on or about 03/05/09. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible and acceptable means this hazard is to install a readily accessible, unobstructed emergency stop device inside the spray booth, per Section 6 of ANSI/RIA R15.06-1986.
