Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: a) On or about June 12, 2007 and at times prior, Nabors Drilling USA, LP did not ensure that employees were protected from crushing hazards. The air tugger hoists were used to lift loads with job made, unrated, under the hook lifting devices. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to have devices manufactured and tested to meet the ANSI standards for lifting devices. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification
