Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls: On or about August 22, 2003, employees operating and working from a Genie S-60 manlift at the jobsite located at 524 Church Street, in Jonesboro, Arkansas were exposed to injuries from falls due to the aerial platform not being operated on a surface within the limits specified by the manufacturer. One feasible method of abatement, among others is to require the aerial platform to be used in accordance with Section 7.9(a) of the American National Standard Institute, Boom-Supported Elevating Work Platforms (ANSI A92,5-1992)
