Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard: FALLING
Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. At the "Isla Caja de Muerto". Receive injuries due to falls from the dock to the sea (12 feet high). At the first section of the dock raling area missing in some areas (east to west a section 87 inches is missing and a section from south to north of 28 long is missing. Among others methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install news sections of railing tht are missing. a. En el muelle de la Isla Caja De Muerto. Recibir lesiones serias debido a caidas del muelle al mar (12'de altura). En la primera seccion del muelle esta faltaban dos secciones de barandas (una de este a oeste de 87 pulgadas de largo y otra de sur a norte de 28 pies de largo). Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este riesgo es instalar nuevas secciones de barandas que falten.
