29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):The employer did not ensure employees used eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: The employer fails to ensure employees are protected from stuck-by hazards by wearing eye protection when engaged in framing activities for residential construction. This was most recently documented on March 12, 2025, at 9631 Wilkinson Ct. Maize, KS, where employees working with pneumatic nail guns and manual hammers were not provided with eye protection, thereby exposing them to struck-by hazards. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure its employees engaged in residential construction wear eye protection while working in proximity to or with pneumatic nail guns and manual hammers to protect against struck-by hazards.
