OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from thermal and chemical burns: a) Milk Receiving Bay: On December 7, 2024, and at times prior to, workers and contractors involved in the troubleshooting of a clean-in-place (CIP) system were exposed to potential chemical and thermal burn hazards. Note* Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item. Among others, feasible and acceptable means of abatement for troubleshooting Clean in Place (CIP) and passivation activities includes: - Conducting a job hazard analysis / process hazard analysis (JHA / PHA). - Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Training affected workers on the hazards and safety measures. - Ensuring effective communication between the host employer and sanitation contractors.
