29 CFR 1926.416(a)(3): The employer began work without determining if employees could contact any part of an energized circuit and did not post warning signs and advise employees of the location of the circuit, hazards, and protective measures they need to take. On or about August 13, 2024, at the temporary worksite located at 9047 6th St, Great Bend, KS 67530 employees worked near an energized powerline while operating the Genie Aerial Lift, model Z-80/60 with serial number Z8011-2924; employees in the lift basket were exposed to electrical shock. One employee was electrocuted and a second received electrical burns and was hospitalized. The employer did not post warning signs, provide protective measures, or communicate hazardous locations to employees.
