29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where (a) portable ladder(s) was/were used for access to an upper level landing surface and the ladder's length did not allow the ladder side rails to extend at least 3 feet (0.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed, the ladder was not secured at its top to a rigid support that will not deflect, and/or a grasping device was not provided to assist employees in mounting and dismounting the ladder. a) On or about July 18, 2024, at the job-site located at 5483 Angelonia Terrace Land O'Lakes, Florida; sub-contracted employees involved in residential roof work were exposed to a 10-foot fall hazard, in that, the multi-position ladder use to access the roof was not extended 3 feet above the landing surface of the roof. Turnkey Roofing of Florida, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1732909, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 6/10/2024, with respect to a workplace located at 365 University Boulevard North, Jacksonville Florida 32211.
