29 CFR 1926.651(h)(1): The employer did not prevent employees from working in excavations in which there was accumulated water, or excavations in which water was accumulating, and adequate precautions had not been taken to protect employees against the hazards posed by water accumulation. a) On or about March 20, 2024, inside the excavation, employees performing pipe leak test were not adequately protected from water accumulation hazards in that the dewatering equipment was not keeping up with the water accumulation, exposing employees to drowning hazards.
