29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. At an establishment located at 1740 Eisenhower Road in De Pere, Wisconsin, employees of Robinson, Inc. were not provided point of operation guarding to protect employees on the production floor in areas such as but not limited to: a) On or about December 14, 2023, the employer did not protect employees from the point of operation on the Grob Band Saw (S-8). The guard did not adequately protect the operator from the point of operation during the operating cycle. b) On or about December 14, 2023, the employer did not protect employees from the point of operation on the Amada Press Brake (PB 12) with any form of machine guarding. c) On or about December 14, 2023, the employer did not protect employees from the point of operation on the Amada Press Brake (PB 10) with any form of machine guarding. d) On or about December 14, 2023, the employer did not protect employees from the point of operation on the Amada Press Brake (PB 9) with any form of machine guarding.
