29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located, and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) Mavis Discount Tire 261 Jericho Turnpike, Syosset, NY 11791- The portable fire extinguisher in the mechanics bay was stored under a shelving rack under a window. The fire extinguisher was being blocked on all sides by the rack with rolls of plastic seat covers, a box of disposable floor mats, and the shelving unit exposing employees to fire hazards; on or about November 29, 2023. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
