29 CFR 1910.179(n)(4)(i): The upper limit switch of each hoist was not tried out under no load, at the beginning of each operator's shift. a. On or about November 3, 2023, at a kettle of molten zinc, an overhead crane limit switch was not tried out under no load before use at the start of the operator's shift. An employee used the crane to move parts to and from the kettle of molten zinc. This exposed to struck-by hazards. b. On or about November 3, 2023, kettle area, an overhead crane's limit switch cover was identified 9/17/2023 as being damaged and was not replaced until 11/11/2023. This exposed employees to struck-by hazards.
