29 CFR 1910.1026(g)(1)(iii): Respiratory protection. General. Where respiratory protection is required by this section, the employer must provide each employee an appropriate respirator that complies with the requirements of this paragraph. Respiratory protection is required during: Work operations for which an employer has implemented all feasible engineering and work practice controls and such controls are not sufficient to reduce exposures to or below the PEL; a.) On or about November 10, 2023, the employer was notified of the air monitoring results on October 4, 2023, and did not require use of respiratory protection for welders working at V363 Hot End and V363 Tailpipe who were exposed over the hexavalent chromium PEL (35 ug/m3 and 6.6 ug/m3 respectively).
