29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Employee were not protected in an excavation from a cave-in by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: a) On or about 10/27/2023, Back of the house: Employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while engaged in trenching excavation operations at the worksite. Employees was working inside a trench measuring approximately 32ft long, 14ft wide and 9ft deep without protection from an adequate shoring protection system. Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
