29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Facility: Ritter Foods LLC, located at 3333 S 3rd St, Philadelphia, PA 19148. On about October 13, 2023 a) The employer did not ensure the exposed auger blade of the Amfec 150 meat grinder was guarded while the machine was in use, thereby exposing employees to entanglement, caught in between and struck by hazards. b) The employer did not ensure the exposed blades of the Pacproinc PPI-200 interleaving slicer were guarded while the machine was in use, thereby exposing employees to caught in between and struck by hazards.
