Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to fall hazards. On or about September 27, 2023, at a commercial jobsite located at 1923 West Hwy 287, Corrigan, Polk County, Texas 75939, on a new wood chip drying unit structure under construction (project INDY OSB Green Bin Support Structure), approximately 70 feet high, employer failed to ensure employee(s) were protected from fall hazards above 15 feet, when it was known that steel decking/grating was not supported by structural members and secured. Among other methods, feasible means of abatement would be to follow ANSI ASSP Z.359 Fall Protection and Fall Restraint Standards.
