29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):"Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Jobsite: 773 East Ashland Ave. Folcroft, PA 19032 - On or about 12 September 2023, the employer did not ensure employees on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet or more above a lower level were protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Employee #3 was participating with installing trusses for a roof on a building without the use of fall protection, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately 20 feet. Level Edge Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(15) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1567902, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on June 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 411 Main Street Luzerne, PA 18709. Level Edge Construction, LLC was also previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1926.501(b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1339742, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 18, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 615 Memorial Parkway Phillipsburg, NJ 17579.
