29 CFR 1910.29(b)(6): The employer did not ensure that guardrail systems are smooth-surfaced to protect employees from injury, such as punctures or lacerations, and to prevent catching or snagging of clothing: a) Radford Army Ammunition Plant, sulfuric acid, weak and pyro tank areas : On or about June 21, 2023, employees routinely accessed walkways where surfaces of guardrails are creaking and splintering thereby exposing employees to possible lacerations or punctures. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
