29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: At the jobsite located at 3120 W. 157th Pl. Overland Park, KS, employee(s) performing landscaping masonry activities were exposed to chemical hazards in that they were not provided with information and training on how to recognize, avoid and/or eliminate the hazards associated with Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS), QUIKRETE concrete mix, Ash Grove portland lime mortar, and gasoline/oil mix at the jobsite. The chemical hazards associated with the following chemicals include: skin and eye irritation, drowsiness, dizziness and upper respiratory irritation, silicosis and/or tuberculosis, and may cause cancer.
