29 CFR 1910.151(c): The employer did not ensure that employees that were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, had suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body within the work area for immediate emergency use: (a)American Engineered Products, LLC at 605 4th Street Southeast, De Smet, SD 57231: On or about and at times prior to May 10, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees that are exposed to injurious corrosive materials such as Coral Eco-Clene 19 PF 131-004, were provided suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing eyes and body within the work area for immediate emergency use. This condition exposed employees to chemical burns and injuries. Abatement Note: A feasible means of abatement includes but is not limited to: (1) A portable eye wash device, appropriate for the expected hazardous exposure, and containing not less than one gallon of potable water; or (2) A plumbed emergency eyewash unit capable of delivering not less than 1.5 liters (0.4 gallons) of clean water per minute, with flow valves that are simple to operate, go "on" in one second or less, and remain "on" during the eyewash procedure.
