Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.217(c)(2)(i)(a): Point of operation on mechanical power press did not prevent entry of hands or fingers into the point of operation by reaching through, over, under or around the guard: a) Operations Area - On or about March 31, 2023, the employer did not completely guard the point of operation on the V&O full revolution mechanical power presses, numbered one through four. The enclosure guard had openings on the front of the guard, left-hand side, right hand side, and above the guard near the die of all four presses. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
