29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) Exterior (South Facing) of Single Family Frame Home: Employees engaged in roofing work were required to access the roof from an aluminum extension ladder, and the ladder did not extend at least 3 feet above the roof's landing. The employer did not ensure that an extension ladder used to access the roof, was extended to at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface, on or about 3/1/23.
