29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Unprotected sides and edges. Except as provided elsewhere in this section, the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the following: (A) Guardrail systems; (B) Safety net systems; or (C) Personal fall protections systems, such as personal fall arrest, travel restraint, or positioning systems: a) On or about May 28, 2023, at an establishment located at 2099 Badgerland Drive in Green Bay, WI, in the Main Room above the Anderson expeller presses; unprotected sides and edges on an aluminum platform exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 91 inches from the platform onto the equipment and concrete floor below. b) On or about January 23, 2023, at an establishment located at 2099 Badgerland Drive in Green Bay, WI; an unprotected edge was located on the walking-working surface immediately adjacent to the Dino discharge conveyor, exposing employee to a fall hazard of approximately 49.25 inches to the concrete floor below.
