Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points and rotating parts: (a) Third Floor Finishing Department: On or about January 11, 2023, the employer did not ensure that guarding affixed on the Brush Finishing machine brushes completely enclose brushes on both ends of the equipment. Employees were exposing to in going nip-point and rotating parts. (b)Third Floor Finishing Department: On March 7, 2023, the employer did not ensure guarding was equipped at the point of operation on the Brush Feeding. Employees were exposed to pull in hazards and rotating parts when hand feeding material at the front of the machine. (c)Third Floor Finishing Department: On March 7, 2023, the employer did not ensure that guarding was affixed on the Small Spray machine at the spray coating section. Employees were exposed to struck by hazards from the rotating spray heads.
