Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Kit Kat Line 22, Moulding Area - The guarding around the nip point created by the conveyor chain into the cooling tunnel was inadequate because the guard could be bypassed while the conveyor was running, on or about December 21, 2022. b) Kit Kat Line 22, Moulding Area - The nip points created by the conveyor chains at the discharge side of the chocolate depositor were not guarded, on or about December 21, 2022. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
