Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(f)(1)(ii):Employees were not removed from the machine or equipment area in accordance with paragraph (e)(2) of this section during testing or positioning of machines, equipment or components thereof. At the FedEx location at 3530 Industrial Drive, Joplin MO employees were exposed to machine pinch point hazards on a conveyor during testing after maintenance was conducted when employees were not removed or safely repositioned in the work area. This was documented on or about 8/22/2022 when an employee was hospitalized, resulting in amputation from a moving sprocket and chain on a conveyor when testing was being performed after maintenance was complete.
