29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1):Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions. a) Grant Village Campground, Yellowstone National Park: On or about July, 14, 2022, and at times prior, employees were exposed to cave in hazards while installing ground utilities in an unprotected trench measuring 8 feet in depth without conducting daily inspections of the working location. HK Contractors Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29CFR 1926.651(k)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1491596, citation number 1, item number 2a, and was affirmed as a final order on March 18, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 302 Robert Reamer Avenue, Gardiner, MT, 59030.
