29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l). a) Empire Marble and Granite, LLC./5 Chris Crt./Dayton, NJ 08870 - Facility & Work Sites - Forklift operators were not competent to operate powered industrial trucks safely by completing the training and evaluation specified in 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1). Company employees assisted in forklift operations by steadying the granite on the forks and standing nearby. Employees would thus be exposed to struck by hazards from improper forklift operation. Condition noted on or about 4/21/2022.
