29 CFR 1926.651(k)(2):Where the competent person found evidence of a situation that could result in possible cave-in, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions, exposed employee(s) was/were not removed from the hazardous area until the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure their safety. a) Jobsite: 1742 Market St, Philadelphia, PA - On or about 3/16/2022, the competent person was aware the situation of the excavation could result in a possible collapse of an approximately 7 foot deep excavated wall and did not take precautions or removed an employee cutting a 6 inch cast iron water pipe inside the excavation from exposure to collapse hazards.
