29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards associated with erecting steel 15 feet or greater high without adequate method of fall protection. This was most recently documented on or about June 29, 2021 at Farmac Industries, Inc. jobsite located at 2590 CR L, Ashland Kansas, where the employer has employees perform steel erection activities on a new flake room without protection again falls greater than 15 feet. Employees were exposed to falls of approximately 21 feet from the working level to the concrete drive below.
