29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rests. On offhand grinding machines, work rests were not used to support the work. The work rests was not kept adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one-eighth inch to prevent the work from being jammed between the wheel and the rest, which may cause wheel breakage. On or about 06-14-2021, and times prior thereto, located at Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, 701 E Byrd Street Richmond, Virginia 23219, employee(s) were exposed to a Dayton 6 inch variable speed floor mounted pedestal grinder that contained a broken and missing work rest without the necessary adjustment space required not to exceeding one-eighth inch. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
