29 CFR 1910.37(a)(2): Exit routes were not arranged so that employees would not have to travel toward a high hazard area, nor was the path of travel effectively shielded from the high hazard area by suitable partitions or other physical barriers: (a) Protein for Pets Opco, LLC, dba All American Pet Proteins, at 259 30th Street, Greeley, CO: On and preceding 9/3/2021, the employer did not ensure that exit routes were arranged so that employees would not have to travel toward a high hazard area, nor was the path of travel effectively shielded from the high hazard area by suitable partitions or other physical barriers. An exit route from the ammonia refrigeration system engine room passed through the production lines Motor Control Center room, which contained high voltage electrical equipment. The exit route continued to pass through a closed door to enter the QA Lab, and then exited the QA Lab through a closed door into a hallway. This condition exposed employees to an electrical hazard.
