29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees: On or about December 16, 2020, the employer failed to ensure that employees who were tasked with drill bit change out and machine set up on the Borghi (B4A-201-94) brush machine were trained as authorized to perform lock out tag out. Employees were performing these tasks without turning off, locking and tagging out the machine. Employees are exposed to hazards such as but not limited to being struck by or caught in between various parts of the machine due to stored energy being released (electrical, pneumatic and mechanical). On or about December 16, 2020, the employer failed to ensure that employees who were tasked with drill bit change out and machine set up on the Borghi (B4B-3847) brush machine were trained as authorized to perform lock out tag out. Employees were performing these tasks without turning off, locking and tagging out the machine. Employees are exposed to hazards such as but not limited to being struck by or caught in between various parts of the machine due to stored energy being released(electrical, pneumatic and mechanical). On or about December 16, 2020, the employer failed to ensure that employees who were tasked with drill bit change out and machine set up on the Borghi (B4C-376-1993) brush machine were trained as authorized to perform lock out tag out. Employees were performing these tasks without turning off, locking and tagging out the machine.
