29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2): General requirements for machine guards. Guards shall be affixed to the machine where possible and secured elsewhere if for any reason attachment to the machine is not possible. The guard shall be such that it does not offer an accident hazard in itself. At the worksite located at 105 South Highway 5 Browning, Missouri 64630, employees exposed to serious amputation and caught-in hazards caused by rotating parts from the Kelly Duplex Corn Crimper, serial number 55361. There is a metal slide panel guarding access to the point of operation for clean out operations, but it was deemed to easily circumvented by employees.
