29 CFR 1926.652(d)(2): Manufactured materials and equipment used for protective systems shall be used and maintained in a manner that is consistent with the recommendations of the manufacturer, and in a manner that will prevent employee exposure to hazards. On March 11, 2020, located in an excavation on a residential construction site, an employee working in an excavation 9 in-depth without adequate protection against cave-ins, in that the walls of the excavation were not properly shored per Efficiency Production installation and procedures of the hydraulic shoring system to protect against collapse.
