Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations were not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location: a. On or about March 10, 2020, the employer did not ensure that an electrical outlet utilized in the Lawton 300 Ton Press 60 and powder coating area was approved for the hazardous location. A visible buildup of 7G002Q IMPRESS RED, a combustible and Class II dust, was present on the outlet. b. On or about March 10, 2020, a Baldor EM3158T motor was utilized to move air in the Torit Dust Collector, which contained 7G002Q IMPRESS RED powder coat, a class II dust. The motor is located inside of the collector, is in the immediate area of the filters, and there is bleedthrough to the clean air plenum.
