29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Boiler room rear area: On or about December 3, 2019, an air compressor used to augment the sprinkler system pressure was unguarded. There was a two foot by 19 inch opening to the spoked pulley located on the floor. Possible amputations, crush injuries, or avulsions are possible if an employees hand would get caught the compressor.
