Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrocution hazards: On or about November 20, 2019, the employer allowed employees to set a pole near exposed energized overhead conductors (transmission lines), without ensuring, no insulated part of the pole contacted overhead conductors, exposing employees to electrocution hazards. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement include but are not limited to ensure whenever distribution work is to be performed before starting work, have the employee in charge verify with engineering or other verification methods, the actual height of transmission lines; and train all members of management on this practice.
