29 CFR 1910.95(k)(1): The employer did not train each employee who is exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.95(k). The employer did not institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program: a) Recycle Inc. East dba Mauser Packaging Solutions/South Plainfield, NJ - Throughout the facility: The employer did not provide annual training for employees included in the hearing conservation program and required to wear hearing protection. Employees working in the drum and tote reconditioning facility were exposed to noise levels of 99.0 dBA (tote washer) 92.09 dBA (drum grinder operator), 91.47 dBA (tote line washer/shredder), 90.02 dBA (blowmold operator), 89.6 dBA (resins area foreman/eq. operator), 88.0 dBA (paint booth operator). These levels exceeded OSHA Action Level of 85 dBA for 8 hour TWA, hence exposing employees to hearing loss. Condition noted on or about June 13, 2019.
