29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Projecting shaft ends shall present a smooth edge and end and shall not project more than one-half the diameter of the shaft unless guarded by nonrotating caps or safety sleeves. In the Knitting Department, the Karl Mayer #7 (Type: RS5 N 2 M-F, Masch Nr. 66719) had a 1" diameter rotating shaft which extended 2 3/4" exposing employees to caught in hazards.
