29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2)(vi): Material appropriate in content or vocabulary to educational level, literacy, or language of employees was not used in the bloodborne pathogen training program: Workplace, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ a) A Spanish speaking Crew Lead authorized to clean up blood or blood contaminated materials was not provided training in bloodborne pathogens in a language that the employee could understand. Bloodborne Pathogens training was presented in English which the Spanish speaking worker did not understand. Violation observed on or about 5-9-19 b) Cabin Cleaners are the first employees to identify blood or blood contaminated materials such as but not limited to used syringes encountered during cabin cleaning operations. Spanish speaking Cabin Cleaners were not provided training in bloodborne pathogens requirements in a language they could understand in that the training was only conducted in English which such workers did not understand.
