29 CFR 1926.651(i)(3): Sidewalks, pavements, or appurtenant structures had been undermined and a support system or another method was not provided to protect employees from the possible collapse of such structures. (a) Mountain Top Homes at 4273 Spruce Way in Vail CO 81657: On or before August 31, 2018, the employer did not ensure that a support system or another method was provided to protect employees when street pavement was undermined. Employees were installing a water line in a trench more than 6 feet deep, working under an undermined section of pavement. This condition exposed employees to cave-in and struck-by hazards.
