29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about July 25, 2018, the employer failed to ensure effective machine guarding was in place on equipment, such as but not limited to the quilter and border machines. Employees are exposed to moving parts such as the blades and needles of these machines. Employees are performing various tasks, to include the change out needles and sharpening machine blades on the various machines. NOTE: The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or it's equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection #1092718, citation 1, item 2, which was affirmed as final order on December 16, 2015, with respect to the workplace located at 161 Grand Valley Ave., Orwell OH 44076.
