Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: The employer is failing to protect employees from electrocution hazards. This was most recently documented on or about July 24, 2018 at the jobsite located at 4910-2 Waite Street in Fort Riley, Kansas, where employees were working near live circuits during the installation of solar panels on two-story residential structures. The employer did not take action to ensure electrical power circuits were de-energized or otherwise guarded to prevent employees from making contact with energized 7.2 kilovolt overhead high voltage lines.
