Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.217(e)(1)(i): A program of periodic and regular inspections of mechanical power press(es) was not established and followed to insure that all parts, auxiliary equipment and safeguards were in a safe operating condition and adjustment: (a) Production - On May 25, 2018, the employer failed to implement a program to perform periodic and regular inspections of their mechanical power presses such as but not limited to the Verson #58 press, to insure that all parts, auxiliary equipment and safeguards, such as the clutch/brake mechanism, anti-repeat feature and single stroke mechanism, were in safe operation. In accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
