29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special hand tools for placing and removing material(s) was not provided to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone: (a) Fabrication Department - The employer did not ensure that employees used special hand tools when they operated the Accrupress hydraulic press brake to form small parts. Employees held parts with fingers approximately 2 inches from the die, on or about April 20, 2018. (b) Fabrication Department - The employer did not ensure that employees operating used special hand tools when they operated the Donewell hydraulic press brake to form small parts. Employees held small parts with fingers approximately 2 inches from the die, on or about April 20, 2018. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
